Meet Karen Kerber
Karen has more than twenty-five years of accounting, auditing and tax experience. She provides financial accounting, audit, review and compilations services for small businesses, municipalities, utilities, school districts, health care entities, not-for-profits and employee benefit plans. In addition, Karen, is involved in providing peer review services to other CPA firms and presents continuing education for various conferences and webinars.

Karen is the chairperson of the Technical Issues Committee of the AICPA’s Private Company Practice Section, a role centered on interfacing with accounting and auditing standards setters, providing comments and perspectives on the impact of accounting standards on private companies, not-for-profit entities and governmental entities. Along with the chairperson role, she is a member of the Private Company Practice Section executive committee. In addition, she is currently involved in the AICPA Reporting Framework for small and medium size private companies which is focused on creating an accounting framework to meet the needs of these enterprises. Also as part of her involvement with the profession, she is currently a member of the Not-for-Profit Financial Statement Resource Group which is reviewing the current financial statement reporting model. She has also served on the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO) framework committee and numerous task forces established by the Auditing Standards Board.
Karen has been involved in contributing to various AICPA publications including the AICPA Audit Guide: “Assessing and Responding to Audit Risk in a Financial Statement Audit”. She is also the author of a guide on auditor’s reports issued under the new ASB clarified standards. Karen has also been a presenter at a variety of WICPA conferences on accounting and auditing issues as well as AICPA webcasts.

Karen enjoys spending time at the cabin with her family as well as golfing. She also enjoys following the Packers, Brewers and Badgers.
