KerberRose United Way Campaign: 30 Years Strong

For 30 years, KerberRose has volunteered and donated funds to the United Way of Shawano County. In 2018, the small team of 30 that is located in Shawano, was able to raise $5,123 to benefit numerous local non profit organizations.

The United Way of Shawano County is known for “igniting a social movement in our community by empowering people to unite and solve complex problems that affect us all.”  The organization helps fund various non profit missions in education, health and an individual’s path to success.  United Way of Shawano County is all volunteer board members and relies heavily on community involvement. Engaging key supporters and keeping employees involved in the United Way is very important.

Along with donating funds, several KerberRose employees volunteer at events and some have offered time on the board of directors, such as Karen Kerber, Shareholder at KerberRose. Karen participated on the United Way board of directors for 15 years and she reflected on time spent on the board, “I wanted to volunteer for the United Way and give to the United Way. I have utilized services from agencies who have received funds from the United Way , such as Kids Klub, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Junior Achievement and perhaps others.  I wanted to give back to those agencies and assist our community in the same way I was assisted. It is wonderful to know when you need a hand – there is one there to hold, to lead or to boost you up when you need it. KerberRose is an avid community supporter and allowed me to volunteer as part of my ‘normal’ responsibilities at the firm. Basic philosophy – Support the community to help it be better for all.”

Ron Scanlan, United Way of Shawano County President, said the donations received from KerberRose over 30 years have had a significant impact.

“Having a solid presence from KerberRose in the United Way Giving Campaign  is wonderful. The involvement from the Firm throughout the years, both on the board and through donations, has been an immense help.”

Each year, KerberRose encourages employees to participate in an annual giving campaign through the United Way. Each year, over 160 employees from 10 counties donate funds to assist county residents. Michael Ruby, Managing Shareholder at KerberRose stated, “For more than 125 years, the United Way has been providing solutions to our communities’ toughest problems, such as education, financial stability, and health. As a nationally known fundraising organization, the United Way has assisted millions of individuals and families during its existence. Most importantly, our local United Way organizations need our assistance and funds to help families – right here, in our very own communities.  I am very proud of our organization for giving back to our local non-profits.”
