National Volunteer Week: Encouraging Employees to Serve

National Volunteer Week is celebrated the third week of April every year. This is a special week to thank volunteers in your community and across the country. KerberRose wants to announce a special  thank you to our dedicated employees who devote their time and talent outside of the Firm to organizations that are close to their hearts.

Our spirit for the community is strong at KerberRose. Staff members devote their time and energy to a variety of non-profit organizations, chambers of commerce, schools, youth activities, clubs – as well as holding numerous leadership positions within these organizations. We are happy to share that KerberRose employees clocked a total of 1,854 hours on volunteer efforts in 2018 and the numbers for 2019 are climbing.

KerberRose encourages employees to donate their time and energy to volunteer efforts by conducting firm-wide volunteer events, such as our annual electronic recycling event. Several of our offices host food drives, volunteer at food pantries, and provide expertise on various committees in the community. While the employees  donate their time to volunteering on their own accounts, KerberRose encourages staff to  serve their communities by providing paid community service time.  Therefore, employees can participate in community and charitable activities that take place during the work day without taking a day off from work.  This encourages our employees to utilize their skills and talents to experience the satisfaction of volunteerism and witness the impact one individual can have on the community.

“When employees are actively involved in serving their communities and non-profit organizations, they feel more engaged with their company and their community,” state Mike Ruby, Managing Shareholder at KerberRose. Through volunteering, team members develop communication, business, and leadership skills that benefit them in both their personal and professional lives.  KerberRose is proud to assist our employees in dedicating their time, talents, and efforts to beneficial causes and charitable events.
