U.S. Department of Labor Announces Final Overtime Ruling

According to a recent press release from the government, the U.S. Department of Labor has issued a final overtime rule which makes more than one million workers eligible for overtime pay.

Acting U.S. Secretary of Labor Patrick Pizzella was quoted in the release, “For the first time in over 15 years, America’s workers will have an update to overtime regulations that will put overtime pay into the pockets of more than a million working Americans. This rule brings a commonsense approach which offers consistency and certainty for employers as well as clarity and prosperity for American workers.”

Melissa Schwartz, KerberRose Manager and Payroll Specialist stated, “Our payroll team is aware of the changes to the overtime rule and will contact our payroll clients to discuss further. KerberRose payroll specialists will work with clients to identify employees who may be affected by the changes and will assist in creating an action plan for payroll changes.”

In light of this new ruling, KerberRose will be holding an informational session to further educate business owners on the overtime changes. Please follow our social media channels to stay up-to-date on news and events.
